Mid-Level M&A Associate - Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, New York, Salt Lake City, or Washington, DC

Position Overview Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking an M&A associate with 4–6 years of relevant experience to join the Transactions Practice Group in our Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, New York, Salt Lake City, or Washington, DC office. This role focuses primarily on U.S. and cross-border middle market M&A transactions, with a significant focus on private equity M&A transactions. It is ideal for a "deal runner" who is comfortable overseeing matters with limited supervision and working directly with partners, senior associates, and clients. Responsibilities The associate will manage complex corporate M&A transactions, draft transaction documents, coordinate due diligence, and support cross-border and private equity deals. Key tasks include transaction execution, maintaining deal files, and operating with limited supervision. Qualifications JD from an ABA‑accredited law school. Active in good standing of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where admitted to practice. Timely admission to the Bar of the state where the hiring office is located required. 4–6 years of experience representing clients in complex corporate M&A transactions. Early‑stage financing experience is a plus. Strong drafting and communication skills, business development aptitude, and excellent interpersonal skills. Positive attitude and exceptional work ethic. Compensation & Benefits Expected salary range: $290,000 – $390,000. Pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity, and other factors permitted by law.
