Overview:

Sort and separate ferrous and non-ferrous metals by type and grade.

Operate equipment such as shears, balers, forklifts, and cranes to move or process materials.

Clean and prepare scrap metal by removing non-metal components.

Weigh, load, and unload metal materials for transport or processing.

Inspect incoming materials to identify contaminants or hazardous substances.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Follow all safety guidelines and wear required protective gear.

Record material weights, types, and quantities for tracking and reporting.

Assist with general yard duties as needed.

• Work Environment:
  This position typically involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires standing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.

• Clean Background

Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in scrap metal recycling, warehouse, or general labor preferred.

• Ability to identify different types of metals and materials.

• Skilled in operating basic hand tools and heavy equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments.

• Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic.
