Department Finance and Bus Resources (FIN) Location San Antonio Description This position is responsible for entry level accounting processes, reporting, and accurate record keeping in assigned areas. Entry‑level position – generally has up to three years of experience and/or demonstrated job relevant knowledge/skills. Relies on instructions and pre‑established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and works under immediate supervision. The incumbent is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self‑development. Essential Functions Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission Prepares monthly and year‑end journals to be reviewed by supervisor Adheres to all Company deadlines and reporting requirements as set by management or from Federal, state, and local rules and regulations Investigates and resolves balance sheet reconciling items on a timely basis Assists with preparing internal financial reports and completes special projects as assigned by Finance Managers and Leadership Provides accounting assistance to business units and responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of business accounting principles, budget preparation, and strong business acumen Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) as it applies to the industry and company Proficient in the use of computer programs and systems utilized by the company (DBS, CODA, Sage100c, Clarity, Microsoft Dynamics, Excel, etc.) Strong research, problem solving and investigation skills Strong interpersonal communication skills including both written and oral Ability to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions Excellent interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization Excellent organizational, planning, multi‑tasking, and time management skills, deadline oriented Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast‑paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness Requirements Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred Up to three years of experience preferred Supervisory Responsibilities None Travel Up to 5% Physical Requirements This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc. This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines Occasionally moves materials or equipment weighing up to 15 lbs.
