We are a general practice law firm looking for an Attorney to join our firm.
Potential candidates must have the ability to prioritize, multi-task and must work well in a team environment. The ideal candidate would also possess mid to high level computer skills, superior communication and written skills, and be highly organized and detail oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload from intake through resolution.
- Represent clients in court hearings, motions, trials, mediations, and settlement conferences.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, subpoenas, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, court rules, and case law.
- Develop case strategies tailored to each client’s legal needs and objectives.
- Conduct client consultations and maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status and legal options.
- Prepare for and conduct depositions, evidentiary hearings, and examinations of witnesses.
- Negotiate settlements and agreements with opposing counsel.
- Review discovery and evaluate evidence, financial documents, medical records, and other case materials.
- Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure cases are prepared efficiently and deadlines are met.
- Attend court appearances throughout the local area as required.
- Maintain accurate and timely case files, billing records, and court deadlines.
- Demonstrate professionalism and strong advocacy skills when communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and the Court.
- Manage multiple cases and competing deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the State of Michigan
- Minimum of one year previous experience in Personal Injury
- Requires knowledge of Michigan No Fault law along with familiarity with personal injury
