Quality Control Manager

Akima Global Logistics, LLC (AGL) is seeking a Quality Control Manager at National Institutes of Health (NIH) Bethesda, MD. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and overseeing quality control programs specific to Vertical Conveyance Systems (VCS) including elevators, escalators, ADA lifts, dumbwaiters, and material lifts service and repair operations. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s quality control program for all elevator projects. Conduct field inspections on installations, modernizations, and service work to verify compliance with codes, drawings, and manufacturer specifications. Review jobsite workmanship, hoistway conditions, machine room installations, and final ride‑quality performance. Identify deficiencies, issue corrective actions, and follow up to ensure timely resolution. Collaborate with Program Managers, Deputy Program Manager, and Lead Technician to address quality concerns. Oversee documentation including QC checklists, inspection reports, punch lists, and code compliance records. Support internal and third‑party inspections, including elevator inspectors, AHJs, and consultants. Analyze quality trends, recurring issues, and failure points; recommend improvements to processes, training, and engineering. Verify materials, equipment, and parts meet procurement and quality standards. Ensure that all work meets ASME A17.1/CSA B44 regulations and local jurisdictional requirements. Participate in project closeouts and ensure all required QC deliverables are completed. Qualifications 2–3 years in Quality Control, ideally in the elevator, facilities, or construction industry. Experience with QC tracking software such as QT9, ACE, or HSI. Experience in elevator installation, modernization, or service roles. OSHA 30 (Construction or General Industry). NAEC CET, NEIEP training, or other industry certifications preferred. Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30, CHST, CUSP, CSP, or elevator‑specific safety credentials.
