This position involves assuring quality work at all times, safe operations, and staff productivity; and job coach activities that support the participation of individuals of all abilities and backgrounds, including veterans and individuals with disabilities by providing them with direct assistance in training, case management support, and individual advocacy to accommodate and enhance their employment opportunities at the Basement Warehouse.

The Production Lead is responsible for guiding and supervising the line and assembly workers, and other support works in performing tasks assigned implementing quality work procedures, assuring completion of work goals, and delivery of products on a timely basis. This position is also expected at all times to safeguard tools and inventory and assuring that all health and safety procedures are followed by the VETS and Basement Warehouse employees. In job coaching, the Production Lead will also assist disabled individuals, many with special needs, by accommodating their physical limitations or learning disabilities. The Production Lead will assist the employees to understand their production goals and assist them in meeting these set goals. The Production Lead is obligated to report any significant events or incidents to the supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the assessment of all incoming jobs to determine if the Basement Warehouse disabled employees can perform the tasks required. This duty usually includes learning to work to be performed, physically performing the tasks, and using this experience to assess limitations that may apply to some disabled workers, and to teach the works how to perform the work safely and efficiently;
• Assist the supervisor by assuring the Basement Warehouse meets all operational and security standards set by the policies of the organization including securing premises, periodic checks of safety equipment and first aid kits, and assuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are safe and sanitary for use at the Basement Warehouse location;
• Assure all disabled personnel, other direct labor personnel, including those hired on temporary or part-time basis; to assure they understand and comply with the Standard Operating Procedures of the Basement Warehouse, and any directives emanating from the President, Vice President, or supervisor.
• Assist in the coordination of multiple fulfillment work projects that may occur simultaneously to assure direct work personnel understand the various jobs ongoing and the sequential work process that may require them to be temporarily reassigned or may require them to move to a new assembly line.
• This is a position that includes both direct work activity as well as supervisory responsibility for the production operations and related staffing. It is the responsibility of the Production Lead to encourage the development of these disabled individuals and other assigned staff through professional conduct and comportment.
• Engage in solution-oriented approaches, and interact with other team members, clients, and community representatives in a respectful manner, which includes communicating in a professional and productive demeanor, as well as ensuring that actions are supportive of others.
• Responsible for treating as confidential all information about clients, donors, team members and the AGIF-NVOP. Such information is to be disclosed on a need-to-know basis only.
• Responsible for being sensitive to the needs of program participants and must at all times treat clients with respect and professional care.
