Certified Medical Assistant Responsible for providing general direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a physician. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure functionality of practice operations to provide excellent patient care. Ensures medical facilities run smoothly, and works in a clerical, administrative, or clinical capacity, and may perform more specialized tasks. Principal Accountabilities Handle patient intake, update medical records, and administer appropriate screening tools. Record medical information and test results, conduct patient interviews, take and record vital signs, collect specimens, and administer medication under physician supervision. Assist with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, verify and record clinical data and adherence to quality standards. Guide patients through the health care system and help patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time. Take vital signs to establish a baseline before exams. Assist with examinations in collaboration with physicians. Collect and prepare laboratory samples, including instructing patients on sample collection or drawing blood. Demonstrate excellent communication, strong work ethic, active listening, adaptability to a fast-paced environment, and professionalism; strong written and verbal communication skills. Greet patients and schedule appointments. Maintain medical records in the computer system. Clean and sanitize patient rooms between visits; prepare examination rooms by disinfecting equipment and stocking supplies. Provide emotional support related to the patient\'s clinical situation in accordance with the plan of care. Assist with referrals to appropriate specialists for diagnosis or treatment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. National Certification CCMA from NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT. Precertification agreement must be signed if expired or if certification will be obtained within 60 days of employment. Preferred: Associate\'s degree in Medical Care or related field.
