Job Description: GCP Data Engineer

Position Title: GCP Data Engineer

Location: Richmond, VA (hybrid 2-3x/week onsite)

Contract Type: Long-term Contract
Overview:

We are looking for a skilled GCP Data Engineer to support a strategic cloud migration and data modernization initiative. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, as well as exposure to Azure and Snowflake, as the organization transitions from a hybrid cloud environment to a GCP-first architecture.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on GCP.
Work with tools such as Dataproc, BigQuery, and Dataflow.
Integrate data from Snowflake and Azure environments.
Develop and manage APIs (e.g., FastAPI, Apigee) for data access and services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data engineering needs.
Ensure data quality, security, and performance across platforms.

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong hands-on experience with GCP (BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow).
Proficiency in Python and SQL.
Experience with Snowflake and Azure data services.
Familiarity with API development and integration.
Strong understanding of data architecture and cloud migration strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in healthcare or enterprise data environments.
Exposure to hybrid cloud environments and data governance best practices.

Required Skills : • Hands-on experience with GCP tools (BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow). • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL. • Experience with Snowflake and Azure. • API development experience (e.g., FastAPI, Apigee). • Cloud migration experience, especially from Azure to GCP. • Strong understanding of data engineering best practices. • Ability to work in a mixed cloud environment.
