Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting students across multiple schools in the vibrant Hilton Head Island region. This engaging assignment spans the full 2026-2027 academic year, beginning August 3, 2026 and concluding May 28, 2027, offering you a chance to make an impact in diverse educational settings.

In this role, you’ll be placed at one of several potential school locations, including high schools, middle schools, or leadership academies in Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, or Beaufort. You will facilitate communication and inclusive learning by interpreting spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) for students and staff, ensuring all learners have equitable access to instruction and campus activities.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 required
• Demonstrated experience in educational environments, preferably working with K-12 students
• Mastery of American Sign Language and knowledge of Deaf culture
• Flexibility and adaptability to serve various age groups and academic settings
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Professional, reliable, and committed to supporting student success

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services during classroom instruction, assemblies, and school events
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to deliver accessible learning experiences
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students
• Maintain professional documentation and uphold all confidentiality requirements
• Serve as an educational liaison for Deaf culture and ASL best practices
