Chemistry Expert (PhD) for AI Training

Apply advanced chemistry expertise to improve how next-generation AI systems learn, reason, and respond to complex scientific questions. This fully remote contractor opportunity centers on creating accurate, rigorous, and clearly explained chemistry content. Prior AI experience is not required. Key Responsibilities

• Produce authoritative, well-explained answers to advanced chemistry questions for AI model improvement, with an emphasis on clarity and depth.
• Review chemistry data, questions, and proposed solutions for scientific accuracy, completeness, and alignment with current best practices.
• Develop explanations and justifications across foundational and specialized chemistry topics.
• Create benchmark-quality reference responses that support consistent, reliable training data.
• Document the context and rationale behind answers to support interpretability and future annotation work.
• Collaborate with annotation leads and project managers to refine requirements and maintain quality standards.
• Participate in remote discussions or workshops to stay aligned on project objectives.

• PhD in Chemistry or a closely related scientific field, with strong knowledge of foundational and advanced chemistry.
• Advanced chemistry knowledge, scientific writing ability, strong verbal communication skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience developing, reviewing, or publishing scientific, technical, or educational chemistry materials, such as research articles, curricula, industry reports, or peer reviews.
• Familiarity with multiple chemistry subdisciplines, including organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, and materials chemistry, and the ability to tailor explanations for different audiences.
• Commitment to scientific accuracy and methodological rigor.
• Strong collaboration skills in remote or cross-functional settings.
• Experience with AI, data annotation, or digital content development is helpful but not required.

• Remote independent contractor engagement.
• Work is task-based, and the time needed to complete tasks may vary based on experience and workflow.
• Minimum submission requirements apply, including a minimum number of tasks submitted each week.
• Roles are typically filled within 48 hours. Selected candidates should be prepared to begin their first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing the required onboarding steps.

• Advertised pay range: $80 to $90 per hour.
• Compensation is output-based and paid per task that meets project specifications.
