Exciting New Competitive Compensation!Unit Overview:
The Intermediate Care Float Pool RN role is ideal for registered nurses who thrive in a dynamic setting and wish to enhance their intermediate care experience. This position involves working across two campuses of our organization.
As part of the Float Pool, you will receive an hourly differential for floating between units!
Work Schedule:- 24 or 36 hours per week
- Shifts available: 8 or 12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM or 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every third weekend commitment
The Community RN Career Direct Care Pathway consists of four tiers based on experience, education, and qualifications:
- Level I: Less than 12 months of RN experience.
- Level II: 12 months to less than 3 years of RN experience.
- Level III: 3 years to less than 8 years of RN experience.
- Level IV: 8 years or more of RN experience.
This role emphasizes delivering both professional and non-professional nursing care in line with physician directives. Responsibilities include:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for a designated group of patients.
- Providing nursing care and performing clinical support tasks as per the patient’s care plan.
- Overseeing processes and programs, utilizing specialized knowledge typically gained through advanced education.
The RN will independently deliver direct nursing care to patients and their families, adhering to established policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:- Valid RN license in Massachusetts.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Department-specific certifications may be required based on the type of patient care.
- Experience level must align with the designated tier (I, II, III, or IV).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
The following duties are intended to provide a general overview and are not exhaustive:
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives.
- Integrate evidence-based practices and research into clinical care.
- Conduct and accurately document clinical assessments.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Utilize professional judgment to tailor care plans based on patient assessments.
- Manage patient assignments by delegating tasks effectively according to team members' skills.
- Create educational plans for patients and families, documenting as per departmental standards.
- Support patient and family rights, including informed decisions and advanced directives.
- Continuously assess and adjust care plans based on changes in patient health.
- Formulate comprehensive discharge plans, utilizing community resources and referrals.
- Assist in the onboarding and development of new staff members.
- Facilitate the professional growth of department staff through mentorship.
- Identify personal learning needs and pursue relevant educational opportunities.
- Participate in departmental committees as required.
- Occasional lifting of 30-35 lbs and assisting with patient mobility.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, sitting, kneeling, and squatting.
- Exposure to infectious diseases and potential carcinogenic substances.
- Risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
- Fine manual dexterity is necessary for patient handling.
- Visual and auditory acuity required for monitoring patient care.
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
- Knowledge and application of the nursing process.

The pay range for this position is between $37.50 and $68.47, reflecting the minimum qualifications required.
