Emergency Room - Float Pool

Hours

36 Hours, Days/Evenings from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a rotation every third weekend and holiday.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties outline the general nature of the role and are not exhaustive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed:

• Engage in and maintain awareness of performance improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate and incorporate evidence-based practices and research into clinical care.
• Conduct and accurately document clinical assessments.
• Create, implement, and assess individualized care plans for patients.
• Manage patient assignments effectively by delegating tasks based on patient needs and team member skills.
• Develop a thorough educational plan for patients and their families, utilizing appropriate resources and documenting in accordance with departmental standards.
• Support patient and family rights by facilitating informed decisions and advanced directives.
• Continuously assess and update care plans based on changes in patient health status.
• Formulate a comprehensive discharge plan, utilizing relevant resources and referrals, including community services.
• Assist in the onboarding and development of new staff members, aiding their transition into the unit.
• Engage in professional growth by identifying educational needs and pursuing relevant training.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in an Emergency Department is preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Massachusetts in good standing is required.
• A BSN is strongly preferred.
• An Associate’s degree is acceptable.
• BLS certification is required.
• 1-2 years of Critical Care experience is preferred.
