Job Summary:

As a Professional Cook at The Broadmoor, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality, upscale cuisine, efficiently operating a designated kitchen station, and maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards. Role Levels:

• Culinary Cook I (Lead-Level): Ideal for experienced culinary professionals ready to take ownership of food preparation, station execution, and maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Culinary Cook II (Entry-Level): Ideal for aspiring culinary professionals looking to develop foundational skills, expand their culinary knowledge, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, luxury kitchen environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Prepare and execute a wide variety of menu items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special functions while adhering to exact recipes and maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Take ownership of an assigned kitchen station, including sauté, grill, garde manger, or pastry, maintaining exceptional quality, organization, and consistent execution throughout high-volume service periods.
• Evaluate all raw and prepared food products for superior quality, flavor, texture, consistency, and visual presentation, ensuring each dish meets the highest culinary standards before plating and service.
• Maintain proper food handling, storage, and temperature controls at all times, ensuring compliance with established food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Follow established portion-control standards and support waste-reduction practices while maintaining exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Properly operate, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment while following all safety procedures and immediately reporting equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Assist the Chef in maintaining an organized kitchen and keeping team members focused on assigned responsibilities.
• Follow and adjust recipe quantities based on business levels and operational needs.
• Check coolers for proper food rotation and storage to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
• Complete mise en place and ensure the assigned station is properly set up and ready for service.
• Assist with organizing products, equipment, supplies, and required documentation.
• Ensure complete compliance with The Broadmoor guidelines, operational procedures, safety policies, and institutional standards for excellence (Forbes Travel Guide and AAA Five-Diamond).
• Maintain a willingness to learn about The Broadmoor’s history, estate grounds, wilderness properties, culinary offerings, and retail outlets.
• Execute additional duties and responsibilities as required.

What we are looking for:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
• Previous 2 years of experience in culinary is highly preferred; however, an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional background will be considered.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this position.
• Dependable and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to quality and consistency.
• Passionate about culinary excellence, luxury hospitality, and creating exceptional experiences for every guest.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation and email communication.
• A highly motivated team player who connects easily with colleagues and drives results through positive energy and seamless collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills, negotiation, conflict resolution and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs. with assistance and proper safety practices.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required by the calendar of events.
