About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President for its Corporate Accounting team, with a focus on technical accounting. The successful candidate will be a key player in overseeing and managing the technical accounting function, serving as a trusted advisor on the accounting implications of new products, transactions, and strategic initiatives. This role demands a hands-on, agile professional who can lead technical accounting analyses for complex fund structures, evaluate the GAAP and non-GAAP implications of various arrangements, and ensure that accounting policies are in line with GAAP. The Vice President will also be responsible for leading the assessment and implementation of emerging GAAP, SEC, and interpretive guidance, as well as mentoring and developing team members. Applicants for the Vice President position at the company should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, a CPA certification, and at least 12 years of relevant professional experience. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in technical accounting, including experience in U.S. GAAP research, drafting accounting position papers, and evaluating complex transactions. Experience in the financial services industry and a background in national office accounting consultation or transaction advisory are desirable. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, relationship-focused, and possess outstanding communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. A proactive, adaptable approach, and a continuous-improvement mindset, particularly in leveraging technology and automation, are also essential.
