Vice President, Accounting

The Vice President, Accounting leads the accounting and controllership function for the business division, with full ownership of the general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls. Based in Los Angeles, this is a hands-on leadership role that will spearhead the migration of the business unit's NetSuite instance to the corporate parent’s, enhance and manage treasury and collections capabilities, and serve as the senior finance presence on the ground in Los Angeles interfacing directly with senior management. The role demands a strong technical accountant with a commercially minded personality and a track record of driving process improvement across a fast-moving, multi-brand organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Controllership

• Own the general ledger, month-end and year-end close, and the timely, accurate production of financial statements
• Establish and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation in accordance with US GAAP
• Serve as primary liaison to Group Finance team, as well as interface with auditors and tax advisors as needed
• Oversee accounts payable, payroll accounting, and day-to-day general accounting operations
• Review reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team

ERP Migration & Systems Implementation

• Lead the migration from the current accounting environment to NetSuite, owning scoping, configuration, and go-live
• Partner with implementation consultants and internal stakeholders to define the chart of accounts, workflows, and reporting requirements
• Design and document repeatable close, reporting, and approval processes within the new ERP
• Drive data migration, testing, and user training to ensure a clean, well-controlled cutover
• Identify and implement automation and process improvements to scale the finance function

Treasury & Collections

• Lead the accounts receivable and collections effort, driving down DSO and improving cash conversion
• Own cash management, liquidity reporting, and the cash forecasting process
• Manage banking relationships, payment operations, and treasury controls
• Partner with the business to resolve aged receivables and enforce credit and collection terms

Commercial Partnership

• Serve as the finance point of contact on the ground with senior management
• Work with senior management to rightsize payment and delivery terms across commercial and production engagements
• Support ad hoc financial, commercial, and operational analysis, including corporate development and strategic planning initiatives
• Ensure Accounting team roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines are clearly defined and well understood
• Identify capability gaps and create development, training, and cross-functional opportunities for team members
• Partner with HR and Group Finance to evolve the team's structure as the function scales and matures

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience, including team leadership
• Demonstrated experience leading an ERP migration and implementation; NetSuite strongly preferred
• Hands-on treasury, cash management, and accounts receivable / collections experience
• Strong technical accounting foundation and command of US GAAP
• Assertive, confident personality able to communicate fluently with senior management and other stakeholders
• Experience in media, entertainment, or commercial production
• A builder's mindset — genuinely motivated to create and improve, and willing to roll up their sleeves and get into the detail rather than operate purely from the top down
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working across financial systems and large data sets
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
