NOT your average retail job.

What You Will Do

You will spend most of your day on the sales floor:

Help customers find the right food, treats, toys, supplements, and gear for their pet family members. Basically, you’ll help people spoil their pets responsibly.

Create a friendly, welcoming experience for customers. Listen to their pet stories (there will be many), answer questions, and offer helpful recommendations. You may also be required to admire photos of someone’s dog. This is not technically in the job description, but it happens anyway.

Create fun, eye-catching displays that make customers think, “My dog absolutely needs this.” Even when their dog already has twelve of them.

Working with your teammates to keep the store clean, organized, stocked, and running smoothly. Because dog food doesn’t shelve itself.

Learning about pet nutrition, products, training, and care so you can become the person customers trust with questions about their furry family members. No, you don’t need to know everything on Day One. But you do need to be curious enough to want to learn.

And Yes... Mopping up Pee and Picking Up Poop . Not all of our four-legged guests are housebroken. Some are... works in progress.

At Mounds, we never really know what the day will bring. And honestly, that’s part of the fun. As a Sales Lead your shift will also include:

• Performing opening/closing managerial procedures

• Delegating and following up on tasks

• Completing daily, weekly, and monthly managerial procedures

• Training other employees as needed

• Operating a forklift safely and within established procedures

• Ensuring compliance with safety, security, and emergency procedures

• Resolving and documenting customer complaints

• Resolving and documenting employee issues

• Reporting and documenting maintenance/repair issues to corporate

• Cashiering and other register duties

• Discussing Mounds brands and benefits with customers

• Discussing current promos and featured products with customers

• Replenishing and rotating stock as directed by the manager on duty

• General stocking, fronting and tidying merchandise

• Attending to damaged product per policy

• Ensuring the store is neat, clean and organized throughout the day

• Other duties as assigned by Store Manager/Assistant Manager

What We’re Looking For

• We’re looking for people-friendly, pet-loving, kind people with a sense of humor who enjoy helping people and their pets live happy, healthy lives. Can you:
• Work independently and as part of a team?
• Commit to at least 40 hours per week (Full-time)?
• Lift 50 lbs. frequently to shoulder height and reach above eye level?
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and generally move around a retail
• environment?
• Operate a computer or learn a point-of-sale system?
• Come to work with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn?
