Kafka Engineer

We are seeking a hands‑on Kafka Engineer to support the implementation and production build‑out of a new Kafka platform. This role is focused on infrastructure automation, operations, and development within a large‑scale AWS environment. The engineer will work with Confluent Kafka, Confluent Cloud, automation frameworks, and observability tools to ensure platform readiness, reliability, and scalability. Responsibilities Engineer and operate Kafka and Confluent Cloud platforms, including ACL management and API development. Automate infrastructure processes using Python, Java, GoLang, Ansible, and/or Terraform. Develop custom monitoring and observability solutions (dashboards, alerts, incident response). Support production readiness, troubleshooting, and on‑call rotations for Kafka environments. Collaborate with platform engineering teams to design and implement scalable Kafka solutions in AWS. Qualifications 5+ years overall engineering experience with at least 2–3 years in Kafka engineering . Strong operational knowledge of Kafka (brokers, clusters, tuning, ACLs, monitoring). 2–3 years automation experience at the infrastructure level. 5+ years AWS experience with services including EC2, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, and VPC. Proficiency in Python (priority) and Java; exposure to GoLang preferred. Experience with infrastructure automation (Ansible, Terraform). Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana). Background in Linux system engineering in distributed environments. On‑call participation (approx. once every 6 weeks). Confluent Kafka and/or Kubernetes certifications a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
