Mechanical Engineer II, Harness & Interconnect

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer – Precision Control Actuation System (PCAS), Harness and Interconnect organization. Location: 3360 E Hemisphere Loop, Tucson, AZ (Onsite). U.S. citizenship required; Secret security clearance required before start. Responsibilities: Work independently with periodic oversight while demonstrating knowledge of harness and interconnect systems. Coach and review the work of other engineers. Provide detailed mechanical design, test design and execution, systems engineering, proposals, estimates, and earned‑value management support. Adapt responsibilities to meet current organizational needs and skill sets. Learning Opportunities: The PCAS organization offers hands‑on hardware work, including engineering builds, hardware integration, hardware verification, and direct access to engineering fellows for accelerated technical growth. Qualifications: STEM degree with a minimum of 2years of prior relevant engineering design experience. Experience with harnessing requirements development, system architecture, requirements risk, and verification and validation. Knowledge of system performance, function, safety, and environmental compliance. Familiarity with industry and military standards and specifications. Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5. Experience with harness and interconnect systems, Pro/Engineer/CREO 3D modeling, and mechanical drawing generation. Design and manufacturing knowledge of machined parts, injection‑molded parts, wire harnesses/flex harnesses and related components. Preferred Additional Experience: Advanced knowledge of harness and interconnect systems. Experience reviewing engineering drawings and specifications. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Compensation: Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD (dependent on experience). Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
