About the Role
The Company is in search of an Associate General Counsel to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal counsel and strategic guidance on a wide range of university matters, including transactional agreements, litigation, and regulatory compliance. This role is pivotal in serving as a key advisor to university leadership on legal rights, obligations, and risk management, as well as supporting the development of institutional policies. The Associate General Counsel will manage litigation and administrative matters, collaborate with internal and external partners, and ensure compliance with state and federal laws, contributing to the effective governance and operations of the university and its Board of Trustees. Applicants must have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 2 years' of relevant experience. The role requires a professional with strong litigation management skills, the ability to provide legal advice on a variety of issues, and experience in supervising legal processes. The Associate General Counsel will also be involved in crisis response, and academics, and must be well-versed in areas such as Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and free speech. The position demands a proactive individual who can work effectively with various university departments, including the police department, the office of civil rights and Title IX, and public affairs. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, and collaborative professional with a commitment to the values of the university.
