Located in: West Phoenix, AZ
Pay: Competitive Pay - Based on Experience
Schedule:

• 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM

Position Summary


We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer to join our manufacturing team in West Phoenix. This is not a button-pusher position . We are looking for a skilled CNC professional who understands programming, machining processes, troubleshooting, quality, and the importance of keeping production running efficiently.


The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and modifying CNC programs, troubleshooting machining issues, supporting operators, inspecting parts, and helping ensure the overall success of the production team.


This individual will play a critical role in getting machines back online quickly when issues arise and will serve as a technical resource for the machining team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC lathe programs.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding and practical application of G-codes, M-codes, canned cycles, and macro variables .
• Follow good programming practices, including clean syntax, organized programs, and liberal use of comments to clearly annotate programs.
• Diagnose and resolve machining issues including:
  
  
  • Tool chatter
  • Dimensional problems
  • Short tool life
  • Machine alarm codes
  • Tooling issues
  • Setup problems
  • Program-related errors
• Troubleshoot machining problems quickly to minimize downtime and return machines to production.
• Work closely with CNC operators to identify and correct issues affecting part quality or production.
• Inspect completed parts and evaluate them for dimensional and quality conformance.
• Identify potential machining problems before they become larger production issues.
• Analyze problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to determine root causes.
• Make appropriate program, tooling, or setup adjustments to improve machining performance.
• Support operators with program interpretation, setup troubleshooting, and machining techniques.
• Maintain accurate production documentation and ensure KPIs are recorded correctly.
• Help maintain consistent quality, productivity, and efficiency across the machining operation.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

• Strong hands-on experience with CNC lathe programming .
• Strong understanding of CNC programming principles and machining processes.
• Proficiency with G-code and M-code programming .
• Experience with canned cycles and macro variables .
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to identify the root cause of machining problems and implement effective solutions.
• High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and machining specifications.
• Ability to inspect parts and determine whether they meet required specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with operators, machinists, and leadership.

• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a production environment.

The Right Candidate

When an operator encounters an alarm, dimensional issue, tool chatter, or setup problem, we need someone who can quickly diagnose what is happening, determine the root cause, make the appropriate corrections, and get the machine producing conforming parts again.
