Duties include conducting performance assessments, staffing, employee development, communication meetings, disciplinary actions, training & educational oversight/ approval and other routine personnel issues. Must have experience developing and providing technical leadership of software systems. The candidate will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that the software lifecycle is accomplished with high quality and efficiency.All candidates must have a current and continuing full-time program assignment(s); this position is allocated for ~5-15% of the successful candidate’s time, which fluctuates during the year due to business needs and the performance management cycle.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other applicable STEM discipline and 8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience, or PhD with 4 years of experienceProven leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skillsExperience developing and providing technical leadership of software systemsDemonstrate a detailed understanding of all aspects of software developmentDemonstrated mentoring skills, and excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)Knowledge and understanding of standard software engineering processesProven time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilitiesBe willing to obtain/ maintain a DoD Secret Clearance once onboard with Northrop Grumman.Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances:Dept of Defense Secret level with a background investigation date within 10 years OR Dept of Energy L clearance with a background investigation date within 10 yearsPreferred Qualifications:Prior experience in engineering functional management is a plus.Experience with multiple iterations of the complete lifecycle as a practitioner preferred.Demonstrated coaching skills are a plus.Previous experience leading a team of 3-5+ employees with a record of on-time performance.Previous experience in developing proposal inputs (task descriptions and basis of estimate)Demonstrate exemplary professionalism and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations. Experience with AI auto code generation toolsHands-on experience with the Amherst System’s EW Simulators (including CEESIM product line).Experience with leading Agile software developmentExperience with JIRA for issue trackingExperience with GitHub for configuration managementPrimary Level Salary Range: $146,500.00 - $219,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
