Corporate Controller

Corporate ControllerWTTW (Chicago PBS) and WFMT (classical music radio station) are looking for a Corporate Controller to lead the accounting operations of the organization, ensuring accurate and timely financial information for the purposes of internal and external reporting and compliance.Key Responsibilities:Supervise finance/accounting staffPropose accounting process improvementsRecommend, implement, and maintain accounting policies and controlsWork with accounting firm to prepare annual tax returnsPrepare financial statements and regulatory information including divisional schedules and/or statementsPlan and implement annual audits with independent external auditorsAssist FP&A team with any accounting data requestsFile timely financial regulatory reportsManage accounting for endowment and other financial assetsFCC Compliance OfficerSkills/Qualifications:Mastery of accounting principles as it relates to financial reporting and GAAPOrganized and detail orientedExpert user of Microsoft Excel and other office productsOracle NetSuite proficiency preferred but not requiredSolutions-oriented mindsetCustomer-service orientedAbility to work cross-functionally and across various levels of managementFlexibility in work schedule; 3 days in office minimumExperience:5 years or more of supervisory experience7 years or more of accounting/finance experience with at least 5 years of experience in a controller capacityMedia and/or content company experience preferredNon-profit experience requiredEducation:Bachelor's degree in accounting.
