Job Opportunity

Position Summary

This position is responsible for assisting patients and medical staff within an outpatient clinic setting, ensuring the overall operation of the clinic is efficient and effective. The role includes maintaining required skill sets, competencies, and participating in educational programs while adhering to infection control policies and procedures.

Shift Details

The clinic operates seven days a week, from 8 AM to 8 PM. Employees will be scheduled for 40 hours throughout the week, with varying shifts across the days.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services in collaboration with providers and clinic staff to ensure high-quality care.
• Lead and direct clinic staff to maintain efficient operations, including front desk and patient care.
• Manage medication inventory and supplies.
• Conduct quality control checks with Point of Care tests.
• Document all care and services provided accurately and promptly.
• Oversee the opening and closing of provider clinics.
• Assist providers and staff by anticipating needs to ensure quality patient care.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to facilitate patient care.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or another U.S. state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

• At least one year of emergency care experience (Emergency Room, Urgent Care, flight nursing, etc.).

Knowledge and Skills

• Understanding of the nursing process and its application in clinical settings.
• Customer service principles and practices.
• Safety and infection control measures.
• Proficient in completing assessments, anticipating needs, and specimen collection.
• Familiarity with medical equipment and computer systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Physical Demands

The role requires regular talking and hearing, frequent standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
