Make a meaningful impact in students’ lives by providing vital school social work services in a dynamic educational environment. In this contract opportunity, you’ll support approximately 40 students across two elementary schools and a preschool classroom, helping foster academic success and social-emotional well-being.

This role is onsite only and runs from late October to mid-May, offering a chance to make a difference from the beginning to nearly the end of the school year. You’ll be collaborating closely with school staff, educators, and families to address students’ wide-ranging needs, ensuring an inclusive and positive environment for learning and growth.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Michigan Department of Education approval as a School Social Worker (required)
• Experience providing services in school settings, especially elementary and early childhood environments
• Strong knowledge of academic, social, and emotional development in children
• Excellent communication, advocacy, and counseling skills
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Comfort managing a varied caseload and traveling between onsite locations

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and indirect school social work services to students
• Conduct assessments to help identify student needs and develop intervention plans
• Facilitate small groups and individual counseling focused on social and emotional learning
• Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and administrators to promote positive outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state and district regulations
• Participate in staff meetings, IEPs, and multi-disciplinary support teams
