Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity dedicated to making a positive impact in students’ lives by providing dynamic school social work services. This onsite role is based near Ionia, MI, and centers on supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students across two elementary schools and a preschool classroom. The assignment runs from late October through mid-May, covering the full academic year.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Approval from the Michigan Department of Education as a School Social Worker
• Experience supporting children in elementary or early childhood settings strongly preferred
• Skilled in developing and implementing individualized intervention plans
• Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 40 students effectively
• Collaborative mindset, ready to partner with teachers, administrators, and families to foster student success
• Thorough understanding of school-based social work best practices and legal/ethical guidelines

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct social work services to students, addressing academic, behavioral, social, and emotional challenges
• Work closely with faculty to identify students requiring additional support
• Facilitate small group and one-on-one counseling sessions
• Conduct assessments, contribute to IEP meetings, and document student progress
• Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community resources
• Provide crisis intervention, prevention strategies, and classroom support as needed
