Make a meaningful impact by supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students in a vibrant school community. This full-time, contract opportunity allows you to provide crucial school social work services in a collaborative environment serving elementary-aged children and a preschool classroom.
Your expertise will uplift approximately 40 students across two elementary schools and a preschool, located in an engaging educational setting near Belding, MI. You’ll work onsite, partnering closely with fellow professionals to identify needs, deliver interventions, and foster student growth from October 26, 2026, through May 14, 2027.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current approval from the Michigan Department of Education as a School Social Worker
- Experience working in school-based settings—particularly with elementary or preschool students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to assess student needs and provide targeted interventions
- Dedication to supporting students’ academic and social-emotional development
- Commitment to ethical practice and inclusivity
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and age-appropriate interventions to students facing academic, behavioral, or emotional challenges
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to address student needs
- Develop individualized plans to help students succeed in both academic and social settings
- Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive school climate
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district, state, and federal requirements
- Participate in student support teams, IEP, and other relevant meetings
