Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time Work Location: Telework: Hybrid (CA residents only) Job Summary Under the general direction of the Supervisor I, Project Management Unit, the Health Program Specialist I (HPS I) in the Operations Branch, Program Delivery and Communications Section supports complex cross‑functional health program projects within the Office of Health Workforce Development (OHWD). The position performs a range of health program administration tasks, including assisting with planning, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring programs and projects. The HPS I coordinates program activities, monitors contracts for compliance, identifies necessary resources, and facilitates collaboration with local, state, federal, and other partners and stakeholders. Responsibilities Assist with planning, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of health program projects. Coordinate program activities and support program leadership and subject matter experts. Monitor contracts for compliance and identify necessary resources. Facilitate collaboration with local, state, federal, and other partners and stakeholders. Provide administrative support for project management activities as needed. Minimum Qualifications Health Program Specialist I classification (minimum qualifications as specified in the Class Specification). Desirable Qualifications Strong knowledge of project management methodologies. Strong organizational, coordination, and time‑management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams. Ability to communicate effectively at various internal and external levels. Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to anticipate project needs. Experience building relationships to accomplish work‑related assignments. Experience with workflow management and optimization. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Work Conditions & Telework The office is located in Sacramento and Los Angeles. A hybrid telework schedule is available for CA residents, with a flexible arrangement consistent with operational requirements. In‑office days may be required as circumstances change.
