Position Summary
The EDI & ERP Integration Analyst reports to the IT Director and is responsible for the administration, integration, continuous improvement, and reliable operation of the company's EDI and ERP-related systems.

The primary focus of this position is the development, implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of EDI integrations between the company, its customers, suppliers, trading partners, and internal business systems. The role requires strong knowledge of EDI standards and processes, SQL programming, XML, data mapping, database structures, integration testing, and electronic communication methods . The EDI & ERP Integration Analyst works closely with internal departments and external trading partners to analyze requirements, resolve data and transmission issues, implement new EDI transactions, and improve the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of electronic data exchanges. The position also supports the ERP environment by assisting with the integration and development of new ERP modules, system functionality, interfaces, and related business processes , ensuring that new solutions are properly designed, tested, documented, and implemented.

Key Responsibilities
EDI and Integration Systems

• Analyze EDI requirements and support the configuration, testing, debugging, documentation, modification, and implementation of EDI processes.
• Design, configure, test, maintain, and troubleshoot EDI maps and transaction flows.
• Support EDI transactions using applicable standards, including ANSI X12 and EDIFACT .
• Develop, maintain, and validate XML-based messages, schemas, mappings, and data transformations.
• Establish, maintain, and troubleshoot communication links with customers, suppliers, trading partners, VAN providers, and other external systems.
• Monitor EDI transmissions, acknowledgments, errors, and exceptions to ensure timely and accurate data exchange.
• Investigate and resolve EDI failures, rejected transactions, mapping issues, connectivity problems, and data discrepancies.
• Coordinate EDI activities with customers, suppliers, trading partners, internal departments, and external service providers.
• Review EDI processes periodically to ensure that business and customer requirements are being met.
• Identify opportunities to improve EDI reliability, automation, processing time, data quality, and operational efficiency.
• Manage EDI projects from requirements definition through implementation, testing, documentation, and production deployment.
• Implement new EDI transactions, trading partners, software, and customer requirements through established change control processes.
• Create and maintain EDI procedures, mapping documentation, technical specifications, test plans, support instructions, and process documentation.
• Provide guidance, training, and education to employees regarding EDI standards, transaction flows, business requirements, and system capabilities.
• Remain current with developments in EDI standards, XML technologies, integration tools, internet-based communications, VAN services, and related technologies.
• Work closely with customer service, operations, purchasing, finance, sales, and administrative teams to develop, test, and improve EDI processes.
• Support customer order processing, shipping, invoicing, accounts receivable, and other EDI-related business processes.

ERP and Plex System Administration

• Serve as the technical support contact for the Plex ERP application.
• Support the implementation, maintenance, performance, and continuous improvement of the Plex ERP system and related SQL databases.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into practical ERP, EDI, and integration solutions.
• Recommend system upgrades, configuration changes, process improvements, and third-party solutions to improve system efficiency and effectiveness.
• Perform analysis, design, development, configuration, testing, and implementation of ERP and integration enhancements.
• Analyze, diagnose, resolve, document, and report application system problems.
• Manage and follow up on support tickets with Plex and other software or service providers.
• Perform system configuration, change management, release management, and testing activities as required.
• Create and maintain ERP system security profiles, roles, permissions, and access lists.
• Identify, investigate, and correct software defects and system issues.
• Support the development and maintenance of SQL queries, reports, data extracts, integrations, and database-related solutions.
• Assist in creating technical specifications, functional requirements, test plans, and implementation plans.
• Develop and maintain procedures to resolve complex user issues and achieve desired business results.
• Work closely with internal teams, including customer service, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and business administration, to develop and test ERP solutions.
• Train and support users in the effective and appropriate use of the Plex ERP system.
• Maintain accurate documentation for system configuration, processes, interfaces, procedures, and support activities.

Project Management and Continuous Improvement

• Create project plans that define scope, objectives, resources, responsibilities, milestones, schedules, risks, and deliverables.
• Manage ERP, EDI, and integration projects to ensure that they are completed on time, within budget, and according to business requirements.
• Coordinate project activities with internal departments, software providers, customers, suppliers, and trading partners.
• Identify opportunities to optimize business processes through improved system functionality, automation, data quality, and integration.
• Ensure that appropriate change control, testing, approval, implementation, and documentation procedures are followed.
• Evaluate the operational impact of proposed system changes and communicate relevant information to affected stakeholders.
• Support post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement activities.

Business Automation and Other Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain business automation processes using approved automation, analytics, and AI programming tools.
• Follow ISO, IATF, safety, environmental, departmental, and corporate policies and procedures.
• Develop an annual personal plan for continuing education and professional development.
• Handle special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Experience

• Thorough knowledge of ERP, EDI, SQL, XML, data integration, and database concepts.
• Strong knowledge of EDI transaction processing, mapping, acknowledgments, error handling, and partner onboarding.
• Advanced working knowledge of EDI formats and standards, including ANSI X12 and EDIFACT .
• Experience with XML structures, schemas, validation, parsing, and data transformation.
• Strong knowledge of SQL programming, relational databases, queries, joins, stored procedures, and database structures.
• Thorough knowledge of application troubleshooting, debugging, testing, and problem-solving concepts.
• Knowledge of internet-based communications, VAN transmissions, connectivity methods, and basic networking concepts.
• Understanding of customer order processing, shipping, invoicing, financial, and accounts receivable EDI processes.
• Familiarity with manufacturing environments and the interaction between manufacturing operations and ERP systems.
• Familiarity with business automation software, business intelligence tools, and data analytics tools.
• Knowledge of system security, user access management, change control, and software implementation practices.

• Ability to use a ticket-tracking application to manage and document user requests, incidents, and system issues.
• Ability to follow organizational procedures, policies, standards, and change control requirements.
• Ability to prioritize work in a structured environment while responding effectively to urgent system and EDI issues.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate sound judgment.

Education and Training

• 5 years of experience supporting ERP systems, SQL applications, EDI processes, and business integrations is required.
• 4 years of experience supporting SQL-based applications and relational databases.
• Experience with XML and system-to-system data integration is required.
• Demonstrated experience with EDI implementation, mapping, testing, troubleshooting, and trading partner support.
• Experience with ANSI X12 and EDIFACT is required.
• Plex UX ERP experience is preferred.
• Automotive supply chain or manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Experience with customer order processing, shipping, invoicing, and financial EDI transactions is preferred.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
