Job Summary:
Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) position located in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves providing high-quality care on a medical surgical floor within an acute care hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing diverse patient needs, demonstrating expertise in blood product administration, IV initiation, wound care, and managing trach and laryngectomy patients. Shifts are scheduled for 12-hour days, with flexibility for 3x12 or 4x12 shifts, to ensure continued patient care.

• Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical surgical setting, active Illinois license, BLS certification, Cerner EMR proficiency, and experience with blood product administration, wound care, IV management, and trach care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic EMR, trauma unit experience (Level I, II, or III), teaching hospital background.
• Certifications: BLS required, AHA or Red Cross certifications accepted. RQI cards are not accepted.
• Additional Information: Only able to request one winter holiday off. Candidate must be willing to float within scope as needed, including managing tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients; willing to take up to a 1:7 patient ratio if necessary.
• Travel and Compliance: Candidate is pre-closed based on confirmation of ability to accept the position. Must submit SSN and DOB, review and confirm housing options, and provide 2-3 interview slots. The professional must understand floating requirements and agree to the schedule and holiday work. Background check findings must be disclosed at submission, and all compliance requirements must be completed within one week of contract signing.
• Additional Considerations: The preferred start date is 08/10/2026. The candidate has been verified as pre-closed and agreeable to all conditions, including floating and schedule.
