About the Organization

Our client, a nationally recognized, NFP in DC, is hiring an Accounting Manager to lead its day-to-day accounting operations. This is a great opportunity for a nonprofit accounting leader looking for scale, complexity, and mission-driven work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and review/approve entries and reconciliations prepared by staff
Oversee AP, grants payable, payroll, and cash management
Lead the annual financial statement audit as the primary point of contact for external auditors
Strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Drive process improvement and system optimization to increase automation and efficiency
Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
Supervise, coach, and develop a small accounting team

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with nonprofit experience strongly preferred
Prior supervisory experience
Experience with complex, multi-funding-source accounting operations
NetSuite/Intacct preferred; other ERP experience considered

COMP = $125-$140k + Great Benefits
