Peer Partner (PP) for youth Are you bold enough to help teens rewrite their stories? At New Alternatives, Inc., we don’t just work — we heal, guide, and empower. The NEW Achievement Center will partner with Probation and community stakeholders to support at-risk youth through skill development, vocational training, career exploration, educational achievement, community linkage, and the development of positive interpersonal skills. Hours will be M-F, 12-9 pm. Hourly rate: $22.50-24.00/hour, dependent on experience and language abilities This new program will serve South Bay youth and collaborate closely with local high schools, community organizations, and businesses to actively engage, motivate, and inspire participants. The Peer Partner will support the development, implementation, and day-to-day operations of the Achievement Center, ensuring high-quality services and positive outcomes for youth. Building positive, trusting relationships with probation-involved and at-risk youth. Encouraging and supporting youth participation in Achievement Center services, activities, and programming. Serving as a mentor and role model through the use of lived experience. Assisting youth in overcoming barriers to engagement and maintaining involvement in services. Supporting a safe, welcoming, and youth-centered environment within the Achievement Center. Minimum Qualifications Lived experience relevant to the youth population being served. At least one (1) year of experience working directly with at-risk youth. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, strongly preferred Required Skills and Competencies Strong youth engagement and relationship-building skills. Ability to establish trust and rapport with probation-involved and at-risk youth. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Cultural competence and sensitivity. Mentoring and peer-support experience. Ability to motivate and encourage youth participation in programs and services.
