Location: This position does not support teleworking. You will need to live near our Lockheed Martin Space facility and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time. What does this role look like?  The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth, and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence. The Electro Mechanical II is an individual contributor on the LE2 – Tactical Avionics (TAV) team supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program. Work is performed under the direction of senior engineers and is focused on delivering hardware deliverables on schedule. This role blends electrical and mechanical‑hardware designs, requirements & verification and system integration development in a fast‑paced, mission‑oriented environment.Key activities you will accomplish in this role: Support electrical connector design including CAD modeling, test procedure development, specification development and test support.Develop electrical harness schematics.Perform voltage drop and current derating analysis in support of harness development. Work on a cross-functional team in the development and integration of world class avionics systems. To be effective in this role, you will need: Experience supporting the technical development of aerospace hardware.The ability to work effectively as a team member as well as the ability to work independently to drive tasks to closure.2+ years professional experience.While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required. The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:​Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.Basic QualificationsBachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.Experience in electro-mechanical design. Experience in  PTC CREO (or equivalent parametric CAD) – part modeling, surface modeling, and assembly management.Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; thus a US Citizen. Desired SkillsDemonstrated good communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment and to build consensus among peers and effective relationships with team members. Demonstrated strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.  Adaptable to new situations and demonstrate self-initiative in solving complex problems. Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.Exposure to DFx Principles (Design for Affordability, Design for Manufacturability, etc.).
