Staff Accountant

TITLE: Staff Accountant

LOCATION: Hybrid in Alsip, IL | 2-3 days a week in office

COMP RANGE: $60,000 - $75,000

Griffith Foods is hiring a Staff Accountant as a part of the Corporate Accounting Team. Responsibilities will include a wide variety of domestic and international accounting activities such as account reconciliations, royalty calculations, use of foreign currency translation, journal entries, reporting analytics, invoice processing and foreign unit chargebacks.

This is your opportunity to collaborate with manager, Corporate Accounting Team, Griffith subsidiaries, external auditors and other internal departments.

As a Staff Accountant your responsibilities will include:

• Daily cash accounting and reconciliation
• Coding invoices/submission for payment
• Prepare journal entries for month end close for five corporate companies
• Prepare account reconciliations for five corporate companies
• Prepare foreign chargeback invoicing
• Review and record global foreign charges, follow up with units as needed
• Review travel and expense/open AMEX charges
• Prepare A/R and A/P agings for corporate entities
• Process and send statements to foreign entities

The Staff Accountant position is well suited for you if you:

• Enjoy account reconciliation and variance explanation of SG&A costs for corporate companies
• Understand internal controls, audit support, documentation standards and adherence to policies
• Like ERP systems, data accuracy and validation of work
• Enjoy multi-tasking, meeting tight timelines and prioritizing workload

Qualified candidates will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 2 years' experience in manufacturing, retail or service space
• Strong formula capabilities for Microsoft Excel
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Strong planning, organization skills and attention to details
• Candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role

What will set you apart:

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and BPC software

This role is affiliated to Alsip, IL location, and candidates for this role need to reside within a commutable distance of Alsip and will be required to come into Alsip. You may be asked to travel to other locations periodically for meetings.
