About the Position

Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 7pm - 7am Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: IN license or compact RN license required Certifications: BLS through AHA required Must-Have: Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience. Candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in a large hospital setting (450+ beds). Description: The position involves providing general medical and surgical nursing care. The unit sees a diverse population of patients with varying diagnoses, including chronic illnesses such as COPD and diabetes. Responsibilities include managing GI issues, infections, neurological issues, and mental health disorders. Nurses will care for patients undergoing various procedures, including colonoscopies and minor surgeries. Skills required for this role include assessments, care planning, inter-professional communication, and utilization of electronic health records. Experience with IV therapy management, wound vacs, telemetry monitoring, and other medical equipment is essential. Patient ratios are approximately 1:5-6. The role may require floating to other medical units as needed. General job duties include effective communication with the healthcare team and adapting to varying patient needs. The dress code consists of Caribbean Blue scrubs. Supplemental staff will go through a comprehensive orientation program. Flexibility in schedule is required, including some weekend shifts. The charting system utilized is Epic.
