Skilled LaborerThis role focuses on commercial construction work that includes framing, drywall, finish work, and concrete. You will contribute to building and finishing structures by working with metal and wood studs, installing doors and windows, and performing a variety of carpentry-related tasks. The position requires consistent adherence to safety standards and the ability to read and interpret blueprints to ensure high-quality, accurate project execution.ResponsibilitiesFrame and construct metal and wood stud structures according to project specifications.Install drywall, including hanging, taping, finishing, and painting to achieve a clean, professional appearance.Install drop ceilings, cabinetry, millwork, and insulation in commercial projects.Set and install commercial doors, windows, and related hardware to meet functional and aesthetic requirements.Form and finish concrete for foundations and flatwork, ensuring proper alignment, level, and finish quality.Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to ensure accuracy in layout and installation.Follow OSHA safety standards at all times and use appropriate personal protective equipment.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site throughout each project.Collaborate with other trades such as civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing to coordinate work on commercial construction projects.Travel reliably to various job sites using personal transportation as required.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2+ years of carpentry experience in construction environments.Proficiency in framing and constructing metal and wood stud structures.Ability to install drywall, including hanging, finishing, and painting.Experience installing drop ceilings, cabinetry, millwork, and insulation.Skill in setting and installing commercial doors, windows, and hardware.Ability to form and finish concrete foundations and flatwork.Capability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.OSHA 10 certification or completion of OSHA 10 safety training.Reliable transportation to travel to and from commercial construction job sites.General understanding of civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work as it relates to construction projects.Additional Skills & QualificationsCarpentry experience with hands-on experience in commercial construction.Comfort working alongside multiple trades such as civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.Ability to work both independently and as part of a crew.Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and grow into a crew leadership role over time.Why Work Here?You will join a small, close-knit shop where your contributions are visible and valued, and where you have genuine opportunities to grow into leading crews and expanding your skills. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime schedule. Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, depending on project phase, and includes tasks such as framing, drywall, concrete work, and installation of finishes. You will use standard construction tools and equipment and work closely with other trades in a coordinated job-site setting, following OSHA safety standards and maintaining a clean, orderly work area.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Rochester, NY.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
