Lab Operations Technician – San Diego, CA (Contract, 6+ months) Client: Medical Device Company Hours: 40 hours per week, 7:00 am–3:30 pm (some flexibility). Location: On site. Overview Client is hiring multiple Lab Operations Technicians to support our Torrey Pines Laboratories near UC San Diego as part of the COVID‑19 response team. Responsibilities Perform routine laboratory duties and operate Reel‑to‑Reel equipment for applying diagnostic antibody solutions to test strip material. Monitor and adjust optical inspection systems to ensure proper material deposition. Build devices to support Quality Control and R&D. Record daily equipment readings, perform function checks, and complete QA documents (batch records, SOPs, training records). Document periodic preventative maintenance of equipment. Maintain workplace and station organization using 5S methodology. Comply with all safety and infection‑control policies and procedures. Requirements Associate’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Trade School Certificate, or equivalent (preferred). Previous lab experience and equipment operation a plus, but not required. Familiarity with general lab personal protective equipment and practices. Ability to work collaboratively in a flexible environment. Willingness to work flexible hours, especially during training.
