Laboratory Administrator

BioPhase Solutions specializes in recruiting top talented professionals for the San Diego County Scientific community. We are currently looking for an ONSITE Contract-to-Hire (30hr/week) Laboratory Operations Administrator, to work for a leading San Diego clinical-stage biotech company. Responsibilities Support the day-to-day operations of a small biotechnology office and laboratory environment. Serve as a key operational resource for laboratory personnel by coordinating supplies, equipment needs, and workplace requests. Manage inventory of laboratory consumables, office supplies, kitchen items, and other operational materials. Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including incoming deliveries and outgoing shipments. Partner with scientists and other team members to understand operational needs and ensure resources are available to support ongoing work. Coordinate service providers, vendors, and contractors for equipment maintenance, repairs, and facility-related services. Track equipment maintenance schedules, warranties, and service records. Support laboratory safety and compliance activities, including maintenance of inventories, documentation, and operational records. Assist with chemical inventory tracking, safety documentation, and waste management processes. Prior experience is not required, and training will be provided. Support facility inspections, audits, and compliance-related activities as needed. Monitor critical laboratory resources and coordinate replenishment of supplies when necessary. Assist with temperature monitoring and facility alert response procedures. Training and support will be provided. Maintain common areas, break rooms, and workplace supplies to ensure a positive employee experience. Provide occasional front desk coverage and visitor support as needed. Communicate effectively with internal employees, vendors, and service providers regarding operational updates and facility needs. Support special projects, event setup, and other administrative or facilities-related activities as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree preferred; recent graduates with relevant experience or strong interest in operations are encouraged to apply. 1-3+ years of experience in operations, facilities, administration, laboratory support, workplace services, or a related environment preferred. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Dependable, proactive, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities. Customer service mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to learn new processes, systems, and procedures quickly. Comfortable working in a support-focused role and collaborating with employees across multiple departments. Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard business applications. Ability to lift and move supplies up to 25 pounds and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and movement throughout the facility.
