Description Join Loyola Medicine as an MRI Modality Technical Specialist and play a key role in advancing imaging quality, protocols, and clinical excellence. Hours & Travel Monday-Friday, Full Time – 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Travel required to: Tinley Park, Burr Ridge, Oak Brook Terrace, Melrose Park, Maywood and Berwyn, IL. About The Job Under the direction of the MRI Manager and in collaboration with the MRI Medical Director, the Modality Technical Specialist functions as the MRI technical subject matter expert. This position is charged with the development and implementation of all clinical imaging protocols for all scanners within the region Burr Ridge, Oakbrook Terrace, Gottlieb Medical Hospital, McNeal Hospital, Tinley Park and the main campus LUMC and LUMOC. The Specialist must have in‑depth knowledge of MRI parameters manipulation and troubleshooting. In addition, the role performs technical procedures, applies magnetic resonance techniques requiring independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative to provide the physician with the highest quality diagnostic information. The MRI Modality Technical Specialist also serves as the chief educator, clinical instructor and supervisor for all staff and students. The Specialist works in collaboration with the MRI Physicist to oversee all MRI research projects, directs quality for the modality, and serves as a liaison between the equipment vendor, physicians, and staff, performing IQR and ACR accreditation. Ability to grow and manage MRI programs with various Radiology schools is expected. What You'll Do Obtain an Associate degree; preferred degrees include Radiologic Technology and MRI Technologist. Have 3-5 years of previous job‑related experience. Demonstrate strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. Possess interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Show ability to prioritize and manage multiple situations simultaneously. Demonstrate proficient to expert knowledge of MRI imaging equipment, techniques, procedures, and inventory. Present a positive attitude and professional appearance. Show flexibility and willingness to adapt to change and anticipate interruptions. Engage in problem solving, crisis management, system implementation, and performance improvements throughout the hospital(s) to promote high‑quality, cost‑effective patient care. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
