Approved Fire Protection & Security (AFPS) is a fifth-generation, family-owned fire protection and security company headquartered in Somerset, NJ, providing installation, inspection, and monitoring services for commercial and industrial clients across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. AFPS is looking for a full-time, experienced Sales Manager to lead our sales team and drive revenue growth by promoting and selling fire protection and security products and services. This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of fire protection systems, industry trends, and the ability to deliver effective solutions to clients.

Requirements:

Sales Leadership

• Lead, motivate, and mentor the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.

• Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand the customer base and increase market share.

• Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas by territory, projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products.

• Track and report on sales performance metrics, pipeline activity, and forecasts to senior leadership.

Client & Proposal Management

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, contractors, and industry stakeholders.

• Collaborate with project teams to deliver comprehensive, tailored proposals.

• Partner with the service team to develop customized proposals and solutions for clients.

• Ensure proposals align with customer requirements, industry standards, profitability, and company capabilities.

Contracts & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Support contract negotiations, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for both the company and the client.

• Work closely with the legal team and Sales Director to finalise agreements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, services, and customer support, to ensure seamless sales execution and delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid driver's license and excellent driving record.

• Must pass a background check and pre-employment/random drug screen.

• Must be willing to travel throughout NJ, NY, and PA as required to project and field locations.

• Prior experience in fire protection, primarily in sales (3 years preferred).

• Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, products, codes, and regulations. 

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to motivate and guide a sales team.

• Results-driven mindset with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

• Must be able to work Monday through Friday, 7:20 AM – 4:20 PM.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to read and write in English.
