Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN – Texas

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with 1:5-6 patient ratios. Weekend coverage required as needs dictate. On-call duties may be required. 48-hour work weeks approved. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).

Highlights:

• 30-bed Orthopedic Trauma unit within a 379-bed Short Term Acute Care hospital and Level II Trauma Center
• Specialized case mix including post-operative orthopedic trauma management, MVAs, fractures, amputations, industrial accidents, gunshot wounds, joint replacement surgery, and cellulitis
• Epic charting system with 12 hours of orientation provided
• Advanced clinical skills including wound vac management, blood product administration, peripheral nerve block catheters, traction management, and high flow nasal cannula
• Floating between units may be required based on facility needs
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

Requirements:

• Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience required; Level II Trauma Center experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated competency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response/code team utilization, peripheral line management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, orthopedic trauma care, and wound care/wound vac management
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Clean background check required (facility does not accept background check discrepancies)
• Must reside outside 50-mile local radius or bill rate adjustment applies
