Front Desk Receptionist
Nesco Resource is hiring for Front Desk Receptionist in Shelbyville, TN. This is a 1st shift position, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday. No Overtime.
The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for visitors, employees, candidates, vendors, and customers. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming and professional environment by managing the front office, coordinating visitor communications, supporting administrative functions, and providing clerical assistance to Human Resources and Production Control teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, professional, and proficient with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Front Office Administration
- Greet visitors, employees, candidates, vendors, and customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Manage front desk operations and maintain a welcoming reception area.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls using the company phone system.
- Notify employees, supervisors, and managers when visitors arrive.
- Assist with visitor sign-in procedures and badge issuance as required.
- Coordinate conference room scheduling and visitor accommodations.
Administrative Support
- Schedule appointments and meetings on managers calendars.
- Maintain accurate records, files, and office documentation.
- Perform data entry and administrative tasks with a high level of accuracy.
- Support office organization and general clerical functions.
Data Entry and Reporting
- Enter credit sheet information and other business records into Excel spreadsheets.
- Maintain accurate electronic records and databases.
- Assist with tracking, updating, and organizing departmental information.
Human Resources Support
- Assist the Human Resources team with miscellaneous administrative projects and tasks.
- Support employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and company events.
- Help coordinate meeting logistics, training sessions, and employee communications.
- Prepare materials for employee programs and events as needed.
Production Control Support
- Provide administrative support to the Production Control team.
- Assist with miscellaneous projects, data entry, filing, and departmental documentation.
- Support workflow and organizational initiatives as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
- Complete special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of company and employee information.
- Promote a positive and professional image of the company at all times.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous receptionist, administrative assistant, customer service, or office support experience preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong computer proficiency required.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and interruptions while maintaining professionalism.
- Friendly, positive, and customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
- Professional office environment located within a manufacturing facility.
- Frequent interaction with employees, visitors, vendors, and leadership teams.
