Description
  • Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric stages using a variety of evaluations and observational methods.
  • Create individualized therapy strategies that cater to both immediate needs and long-term aspirations in communication and swallowing.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions targeted at enhancing language, voice, fluency, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with interdisciplinary care teams including occupational and physical therapists, medical staff, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care approaches.
  • Educate both patients and their families to extend therapeutic progress beyond clinical walls.
  • Provide occasional inpatient evaluations and treatments to ensure a smooth continuum of care.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation that complies with all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and collaboration to keep up with innovative practices in the field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure for practicing as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based methodologies applicable to all ages, with an extensive grasp of both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional ability in interpersonal communication with patients, their families, and various integrated healthcare teams.
  • Flexibility in adapting therapeutic approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills and problem-solving proficiency.
  • Familiarity with electronic documentation methods and standards.
