Accounting Operations ManagerWe are seeking a candidate with team leadership experience who is ready for the next step up in their career! This position is responsible for leading the accurate processing, accounting, administration, and regulatory reporting of the accounting operations department. Lead assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closing and reporting processes while partnering with IT and other functional areas to ensure a controlled and timely process to achieve our business goals. Directly manage, mentor, coach, train and develop a team of lead, senior, and staff accountants, as well as run cross-functional project teams. Manage and participate in monthly, quarterly and annual accounting functions including adjusting journal entries, cash settlement and application, term adjustment/profit commissions, financial analysis and review, account reconciliations, schedules, notes, interrogatories and audit processes. Manage collateralization process to accurately securitize the corporation on a statutory and corporate funding requirement basis, including letters of credit, funds held, and trusts. Proactively identify and champion process improvements and ensure teams are continually working to advance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes. Monitor and research emerging accounting guidance and implement new accounting and disclosure standards as appropriate.Education/certification: Bachelor's degree in accounting required; certified public accountant (CPA) license preferred; 7+ years of accounting experience required; 2+ years of managing direct reports to include performance management.Skill sets: expert MS Excel, data sets/SQL proficiency required, MS PowerPoint proficiency desired; experience with Oracle and SmartView applications preferred; strong leadership and people management skills; high degree of flexibility and responsiveness to change in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; proven written and verbal communication skills to include written and verbal presentations to senior leadership; ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines; strong technical accounting, research, analytical, and problem solving abilities; energetic, interactive, reliable, and respectful teammate.
