Accounting Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant to support the daily financial operations of a growing title company/law firm in Galveston, Texas. This role is ideal for candidates with accounting, bookkeeping, AP/AR, or escrow accounting experience who thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger records Support month-end and year-end closing activities Process wire transfers, checks, and ACH payments Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation Assist with escrow and trust/IOLTA account administration Support audit preparation and regulatory compliance requirements Communicate with internal teams, lenders, vendors, and clients as needed Qualifications 1–3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage deadlines and work accurately in a fast-paced environment Preferred Experience Title company, escrow, law firm, or real estate accounting experience Familiarity with escrow accounting and trust/IOLTA accounts Experience with QuickBooks, Dynamics Business Central, RamQuest, or Qualia What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Career growth and professional development opportunities Apply today or contact me directly for more information.
