Full Time - Campus Stores Operations Assistant Manager

Compensation Pay Rate: $25.00-$28.00 per hour. This is a good faith estimate of the hourly wage range for this position, depending on factors such as candidate experience, training, education, job‑related skills, internal equity, and operational needs. Additional information about our compensation scales is available at Summary Supports daily operations of Campus Stores locations by providing excellent customer service, maintaining merchandise presentation, and assisting with store operations. Works closely with the Operations Manager and team members to ensure a positive shopping experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Assists with cashiering, stocking, part‑time schedule creation, promotional activities, and maintaining a clean and organized sales environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides exceptional customer service by assisting customers with merchandise selection, purchases, and general store inquiries. Assists with daily sales floor operations, creating part‑time work schedules, ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Operates cash registers and handles transactions accurately, including cash, credit card, and refund transactions. Supports opening and closing procedures, securing store assets, cash handling, and operational readiness. Assists with stocking shelves, replenishing merchandise, organizing displays, and maintaining visual presentation standards. Prepares and supports bookstore promotions, events, and seasonal activities. Maintains cleanliness and organization of sales floor areas, stockrooms, and cashier stations. Responsible for consistently using UKG for scheduling, timekeeping, and running payroll reports. Supports inventory control efforts, receiving shipments, tagging merchandise, and conducting inventory counts. Monitors sales floor activity and reports on customer concerns, safety issues, or potential loss prevention matters to management. Develops and maintains positive working relationships with customers, coworkers, vendors, student organizations, faculty, staff, and university personnel. Assists other departments as requested by management. Must comply with and ensure consistent compliance with all company policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations including employment, safety, and health. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Associate’s degree or trade/vocational school with a focus on retail management, plus at least three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination. Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Qualifications and Standards Languages: Must read, write, and understand English; follow verbal and written instructions, guidelines, and objectives; write reports; communicate effectively via telephone, written, and electronic means; present information in one‑on‑one, small, and large group situations. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interests, percentages; apply basic math concepts. Reasoning Ability: Interpret and apply instructions; resolve problems involving multiple variables; strong analytical, quantitative, organizational, and management capabilities. Manual Dexterity: Utilize computer and POS terminal; use office machines and equipment. Physical Communication: Ability to speak, communicate, and hear. Physical Demands: Operate office equipment; stand/walk/move frequently; lift or carry heavy objects up to 25 pounds; visual abilities including close, peripheral, distance, and color vision for reading and interpretation. Working Conditions and Hazards Work regularly performed in both a traditional office setting and an open sales floor workspace. May be exposure to airborne particles from merchandise and boxes. Noise level is usually moderate. Background Check Information A background check will be conducted after a conditional offer of employment is extended and accepted, and must be satisfactorily completed before commencing work.
