About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Stepdown/MedSurg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification required Must-Have: - Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips - Experience in MedSurg and Stepdown care Description: The position involves caring for patients in a Stepdown/MedSurg unit. The unit typically has 34 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 for Stepdown and 1:5-6 for MedSurg. Registered Nurses are required to titrate drips. Registered Nurses will work alongside nursing assistants, with typical staffing levels ranging from 2 to 5 assistants. Respiratory Therapy is available in-house 24/7. There are ventilators in the unit and staff will work with stable patients on these devices. Telemetry services are offered, and technicians will provide telemetry strips each shift. Registered Nurses must demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips. Weekend and holiday work is required as scheduled. Dress code is royal blue scrubs. The charting system used is EPIC.
