Physical Therapist

Job Summary Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs to treat movement dysfunction and pain resulting from injury, disease, disability, or other health‑related conditions. Responsibilities Performs initial and on‑going assessments of the patient’s condition. Establishes, revises, and evaluates a plan of care appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family. Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the patient’s condition. Provides education to patient/family/staff by assessing educational needs. Provides continuity of care by participating in discharge planning with patients, families, and other health care providers, offering home instructions, recommending equipment/home modifications, and appropriate follow‑up care. Oversees activities of physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Maintains documentation detailing the patient’s response to therapy and the need for skilled intervention as outlined by regulatory bodies. Maintains constant state of alertness and safety. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy, or related field required for state licensure. Experience: No experience required. Licensing & Certifications Licensed Physical Therapist in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin (as required by the state board). Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification required within 90 days of employment. Physical Requirements Constant standing; frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of 0–25 lb objects; frequent hearing and speech for communication; frequent vision for near and far distances; frequent walking, reaching, gripping, keyboard use/data entry. Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting, repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements; occasional lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of 25–50 lb objects; occasional patient lifting/moving; occasional driving.
