SPORTIME currently offers 192 indoor and outdoor tennis courts and 131 pickleball courts, as well as rinks, turf, camps, gyms and more, at sites across Long Island, in NYC, in Westchester and in the NY Capital Region. SPORTIME clubs are state-of-the-art, yet affordable, and feature the best tennis, pickleball, sports and camp facilities and programs.JOB SUMMARY: The maintenance assistant will perform all of the necessary janitorial and maintenance tasks inside the club house, offices, and locker rooms. The maintenance assistant is also responsible for the daily cleaning and maintaining of the tennis courts. This position also involves all outdoor maintenance of the grounds and surrounding area to the facility. Additional duties may be assigned as they develop. This is a hands-on, full-time working position. Tennis court maintenance is a priority.RESPONSIBILITIES:Tennis court maintenanceDaily communication with Maintenance teamAll janitorial work in and around the facilityEnsure courts are maintained dailyMaintain a safe, clean and secure work environmentAbiding by SPORTIME policies and proceduresCollect and dispose of trash bagsUphold safety standardsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:Valid NYS Driver's LicenseReliable transportationKnowledge of maintaining hard and clay tennis courtsBasic knowledge of Electrical and PlumbingBasic knowledge of carpentry, painting, construction and mechanical issuesAbility to use electric tools, hand toolsAbility to lift and carry up to 50lbsAbility to communicate information verbally and in writingDeveloping constructive and cooperative work relationshipsWORK CONTEXT/ACTIVITIES:In addition to the responsibilities and qualifications set forth above, this position requires strenuous physical activity, including but not limited to:Lifting (up to 50 lbs.), carrying, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, stretching, twisting and reaching using entire body and aUse of both fine and gross motor skillsUse of abdominal and lower back muscles, continuously over time, without fatigueSit and to stand for long periods of timeThe position requires the employee to work indoors and outdoors.
