Accounting Technician

Accounting TechnicianThis role supports the daily accounting and office operations of the A&ES main office, with a focus on customer payments, reconciliations, customer and vendor support, and general administrative responsibilities. The Accounting Technician reports to the Director of Finance.Responsibilities and Duties:Post and apply customer payments in ERP, including check, ACH, credit cardProcess customer credit card paymentsVerify payments received at warehouse locations have been deposited and accurately recordedReconcile daily credit card activityPerform pre-bank reconciliationResearch and resolve payment discrepanciesApply customer finance charges and generate and distribute customer statementsAssist with collectionsManage customer sales tax exemptionsPrepare and send payment remittance information to vendorsRespond to customer and vendor inquiriesServe as the primary point of contact for incoming calls to the A&ES main phone lineGreet and assist visitorsReceive and distribute incoming mail and packages; schedule small package deliveriesOrder and maintain office suppliesProvide general accounting, administrative, and office support as neededSupport workplace safety requirements for the main officeQualifications:Accounting clerk/bookkeeping experienceAdvanced proficiency in ExcelCustomer service skillsData entry skillsCommunication skillsOrganization skillsAnd other duties as assigned by management.
