The Position We’re looking to hire a creative and experienced Chef & Kitchen Lead who will bring a deep level of knowledge and ideas to our Laconia kitchen & cafe environment. This person will be responsible for assisting the owners in menu development including new recipes, operational efficiency adjustments, bettering our processes, etc. This position will be the primary kitchen lead and therefore expected to have an ownership mindset in making Laconia Cafe known for delicious recipes with fresh, high quality ingredients, and excellent customer service. The chef will train other team members on food prep and assembly, and will ensure all food inventory for the cafe is ordered and kept in stock. This position will also be trained in all other areas of the cafe and grocery so that they can help cover any other position during slower times or shifts with less staffing. Other tasks might include making espresso drinks, pouring beer/wine, stocking inventory, ringing people up, washing dishes, assembling sandwiches/bowls, etc. To succeed as a Laconia Team Member, you should be committed to providing customers with excellent service and creating a fun & welcoming environment. You should be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and polite. Chef & Team Lead Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Culinary school preferred. Must be 21 years of age or older. Prior experience cooking & preparing food in commercial kitchen setting. Experience leading a team in a kitchen environment. Passion for healthy food and creative recipe ideas. Exceptional listening and communication skills. Ability to walk, bend, lift heavy items, and stand for extended periods. Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence. Hourly Rate Pay based on experience. Paid Sick Leave Employees accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked.
